Our chaplain program began in 2007 when former youth pastor Brent Bettmann saw a need for an outreach to the track community. In 2013 Brent stepped down and handed the mantle of leadership as head chaplain to Jim Mitchell. Additional team members include Chaplains Robin Mitchell, Brian Rodgers, Norval Scrivner, Kent Nelson, Mark Pearcy, Tammie Fields, Jeanne Ranieri, Abram Romero, and intern Jordan Rodgers. We are also jointly affiliated with both the Motor Racing Outreach Association and Raceway Ministries. Our partnership with these nationally recognized track ministry organizations provides our chaplain team with valuable training and resources that better equip us to serve the local racing community.
We offer support at multiple tracks in Colorado and Wyoming, but our primary track community is Colorado National Speedway in Dacono, Colorado. Located about a half hour north of Denver, CNS is a 3/8 mile paved oval that has provided exciting local racing for over 50 years. As a NASCAR sanctioned track and part of the Whelen All American Series, CNS sees over 200 race teams a year participate in what NASCAR calls some of the most competitive local racing to be found anywhere in the country. We would like to thank track owners Jim & Sue Nordhaugen and their staff for allowing us to be a part of this incredible community of people!
